People say the Bulgarian DOMAIN OF DREAMS was established in 1987, although the band's name was changed by last year. Previously, the team was known as SOLARIS (with the same line-up), and by the way the band released two albums. So the all time (more than twenty-five) didn't belong to a fruitful period. But let's focus on new album of Bulgarian Metal-heads, simply titled ” Domain Of Dreams”, which officially is the first album of the band existed from one year under the name of DOMAIN OF DREAMS. Perhaps this is the symbolic beginning of a new road …

The biography reports that the band is inspired by for example DREAM THEATER, PINK FLOYD and QUEENSRYCHE, so DOMAIN OF DREAMS reach to high standards … The arrangements of team are very good – the dynamic spontaneous licks and heavy riffs, the polyphonic virtuosic solos of guitar and keyboards (from melancholic moods till the powerful biting melodies), and the complex rhythms in tone of Power Metal inspired by the pathos with the elements of Hard Rock.

The songs are very dynamic, they bring a lot of energy and emotions (from the subdued aggression till melancholy), moreover the tracks also are very progressive and spatial. Each musician has the something interesting to show – for example the solos or the various accents, and the interesting serves… Jazz inclinations and classical orchestral insertions also appear between Power Metal themes (but they are a minority) … Also the side of vocal is very rich (from the normal singings through the severe vocal, falsetto till the emphatic choirs). However, some vocal phrases sound too grotesque for me and irritatingly (but perhaps this is my subjective impression). But the vocal weaknesses are becoming less important with such interesting ideas of arrangement and even the falsetto's singing gives the originality.

From the above mentioned inspirations – DOMAIN OF DREAMS is more similar to QUEENSRYCHE. DOMAIN OF DREAMS is an interesting combination of heaviness with the music virtuosity and flair of Progressive Metal.
