NUMEN „Numen” - okładka
Music: Pagan Black Metal

Duration: 42 minutes (6 songs)
Country: Spain

NUMEN came into being in 1997 year in Basques' country. The third album “Numen” was released in 2007 year originally (only in Spain and Portugal), however Ladlo Productions decided to release this disc in 2011 year to reach to different countries.

The album contains 6 predatory compositions in Basques' language – Euskera (with English translations in cover of CD). Lyrics tell about old traditions, legends and mythology as well as about the opposition to Christianity. And therefore this is easy to guess that NUMEN portrays Black Metal expression full of mad, quick and aggressive phrases as well as blasphemous multicoloured screams and demoniacal hits. NUMEN is almost uncompromising Black Metal. I think – almost – because the clean guitars, the traditional instruments and the sounds of flute appear among the furious moments and this gives the pagan tone for the whole. Though the arrangements present the mainly very quick subjects but they also present sharp, climatic decelerations as well as the melodies of guitar (characteristic for Black Metal). Many emotions are in these works – an anger and an aggression but sometimes with hysterical despair.

NUMEN is Basque proposal for believers of SATYRICON, BURZUM and DARKTHRONE.
