And in case of MYSTERY particularly, because this is band existing in Progressive World from second half of 80th years of XX century. And therefore the band is very mature and first of all experienced…
If I understood well information from booklet that the album “Destiny” was released in 1998 year originally and it was the last album with vocalist Gary Savoie. The Producer of album was Michel St-Piere – the co-founder of band and the guitarist. In Xth anniversary of edition, the label Unicorn Digital Inc. decided to release re-edition of “Destiny”… And therefore it looks like this was destination of “Destiny”…
The album spreads very romantic music full of imaginativeness and well-kept in convention of Progressive Rock obviously. The works cause, that the listener leaves hold of the reins of imagination and plunges oneself in a world of own emotions… There are mainly calm emotions… nostalgia, melancholy, although with note of some uncertainty and anxiety. These feelings are excited by guitar-vocal ascents. And the vocals as well as the guitar phrases produce the exquisite melodies, enriched by parties of keys, strings and the recitations to music. However “Destiny” has not only balladic melodies but also has stronger tacts in Hard Rock edition, during which heavy and quarrelsome guitar riffs and strong hits of drums attack your ears.
“Destiny” is exceptional album, full of deep emotions and tactful virtuosity (without excessively breakneck instrumental passages). I think, that fans of MARILLION or YES should reach to this album. And MYSTERY is next band, which reinforced my love to Progressive Rock. Several years ago, already as veteran-metal fan I uncovered Progressive Music and I fell in love in it. Progressive Rock caused, that my musical life reached next higher level.
