KRIEG Featured on SHOW NO MERCY Show

SHOW NO MERCY, bringing live extreme metal to Brooklyn's PUBLIC ASSEMBLY (old Galapagos Space, 70 North 6th Street) on a monthly basis, has been featured in the New York Times, Village Voice, Time Out, Terrorizer, Metal Sucks, and other publications. The series launched in December with NACHTMYSTIUM, VELNIAS, and JAVELINA, followed by SKELETONWITCH and CANNABIS CORPSE then OCEAN and SALOME a month later. The March 1 installment is the series' darkest to date, featuring American black metal legend KRIEG in a rare New York City appearance with Philadelphia black metallers WOE and a pair of idiosyncratic NYC-based black metal acts MALKUTH (featuring members of NO NECK BLUES BAND) and LITURGY.

One of the longest running American black metal projects, KRIEG, German for “War,” was started in 1995 by Neill Jameson, aka N. Imperial. He has released dozens of full-lengths, splits, cassettes, and live recordings on important black metal labels like NO COLOURS, RED STREAM INC, and BATTLE KOMMAND via his various projects DEVOTEE, WELTMACHT, N.I.L., MARCH INTO THE SEA, etc. Jameson has played bass for NACHTMYSTIUM and contributed lyrics to the Chicago band's recent crossover album ASSASSINS: BLACK MEDDLE, PT 1. A live member of seminal USBM acts JUDIAS ISCARIOT and DEMONIC CHRIST, he is more recently a member of TWILIGHT, the black metal “supergroup” featuring the men behind LEVIATHAN, XASTHUR, NACHTMYSTIUM, and DRAUGAR (and later ISIS).

Black metal upstarts, Philadephia's WOE, recently made headlines for offering up their full-length debut A Spell For The Death Of Man as a pay-what-you-want digital download (http://www.woeunholy.com/ woesite1/woesite.php?func= digital.php), a first for black metal.

Future SHOW NO MERCY events will feature Genghis Tron, Tombs, Crucifier, Villains, Wetnurse, Black Anvil, Cold Northern Vengeance, and Krallice, among others. Each month, the artist SELDON HUNT (Neurosis, Khanate, Jesu, Isis, etc.) will create original SHOW NO MERCY flyer designs. The series is organized by BRANDON STOSUY, who writes the monthly metal column, SHOW NO MERCY, at Pitchfork.
