DEAR BLACK DIARY Calls it Quits

Guelph, Ontario based Dear Black Diary have announced they will disband following two final shows in Oshawa and Niagara Falls with Montreal's 3 Mile Scream.

“We at the Dear Black Diary camp have decided that it's time for a must needed change. After years of slugging it out, we feel that the new tunes that we have written, although still fast and brutality epic, just do not reflect the band that Jordan, Colin and I started five years ago,” says bassist Steve Ferraro. “The new stuff is so much bigger than Dear Black Diary is, so we are putting it to bed. That being said, we are planning to release our new material soon as a new project with a new name etc. DBD has been great but it's time to start something new and fresh that is representative of all five guys involved. Plus, the new name is just way better! So, don't say goodbye, just say, so-long.

Dear Black Diary released their self-titled Year of the Sun Records debut in 2006 and have toured with Emmure, Forever In Terror, Farewell To Freeway, Arise and Ruin and 3 Mile Scream. The group's debut album was produced by Scott Sherar and perfectly displayed the group's technical brutality and subtle emotion. The album was called “extremely impressive and worth checking out” by EXCLAIM Magazine and the group's video for “Life is the Number One Cause of Death” debuted on Much Music's LOUD.
