SUPER JOINT RITUAL, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FULL BLOWN CHAOS

This is my second show in El Paso, Texas (first was iron maiden with dio and motorhead, just amazing!) and well, to review this fast:

FULL BLOWN CHAOS: band form NYC, a mix of death, hardcore and metal. Sounds crushing like old fear factory and even SYL. Good band, fill the hole, but not the next band who will reign this genre.

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD: band from Canada, a mix of old fear factory, hardcore, some black in new songs, metal and the pure devin sound. Excellent riffery!, Devastating music and great performance. Devin, despite their bad manners against the audience, showed their thanks to the people at the end of the show.

SUPER JOINT RITUAL: band from Texas, Phil Anselmo in vocals, a mix of (guess?) Pantera, southern sounds, hardcore, thrash and even punk. Good execution and well music overall. Phil talks a lot with the audience (maybe because he is from that state), with phrases like “I hate fucking Nu metal!” and “We aren't Nu metal, we're not fags, with make up in our faces” to exagerated and overvalued phrases (in my opinion) like “Who you think that makes pantera the band it was?” and “super joint is a band, not a side project or whatever, we are here to destroy!”. No Pantera covers, despite “he” is the principal creator of Pantera. (Dimebag, Vinny and Rex were followers, lol, don't make me laugh, Mr. Anselmo!)

People in the show really feel music, with some mosh pit and violent stuff. It was a cool show, but I really think that SYL was the best. People in the audience receive them well, but not with the respect that they deserve (maybe because they are canadians?). It was better than Super Joint Ritual, FAR better in my opinion.

SYL still offer new and fresh sounds, but the other two bands, well, what can I say. Maybe they play great, but if don't show originallity and more creativeness, you will stay in the same hole, forever.
