Bloodaxe is a pure Viking Black Metal band that hails from northern Canada. It is basically one man, Nordavinden Lien, who does all the instrumentation except for the drums. The album is a tribute to his Norwegian roots and Viking forefathers.

It begins with a short intro, then blasts into raging Norse Black Metal and continues with little variation throughout. There are brief interludes of acoustics and piano, but all the songs blend together to seem like one long furious explosion of Black Metal. If you like Norse Black Metal, then you'll love it to death, but It's not among my musical tastes. Especially for the lack of variation from song to song. I think the intros and interludes are the best parts, but are few and far between and smothered by the crunching Viking blackness.
