The second album „Criminal Justice“ of the melodic metal band RAZORBACK starts with a track that does not only fit to be the opening track, no, this song has also got a killer riffing and a sing along, easy chorus. The „Animal Anger“ follower even can offer more!

The band around guitarist Rolf Munkes (Majesty, Empire, Vanize) mostly goes straight to the twelve (except on „Hard to say goodbye“. That´s a real blooded ballad that misses the feeling a bit.), for example the already mentioned opener and neckbreaker „The flame still burns“, the title track „Criminal Justice“ that awfully grooves and sometimes fills the silence with a Rammstein guitarriff or also „A good day to die“, as well as „Vampire“. Those four songs all stick out of the songlist – and this not only because of good guitar riffing, but because of the great and powerful voice of the Swede Stefan Berggren (Ex-Company of Snakes), too. Additional strengthening on the six-string is Chris Neun. Behind the drums, Axxis drummer André Hilgers, who also plays in Silent Force, goes crazy. He´s the replacement for Pierre Fienhold. Enriched is the rhythm section with Marcus Bielenberg on the bass guitar.

„It´s alright“ is just rock´n roll, whereas the last song „The point of no return“ the vocals are very similar to Ronny James Dio.

The produciton is a little back to the 80´s, but with success. Modern sounds that are heavy and anyhow they do not miss any melody.

The CD has got a running time of around 34 minutes. But in this case you can say: quality is better than quantity. You see from the first time on that here work professional musicians.

The result can be said like that: The songs own catchy tunes! Worthy follower to „Animal Anger“.
A good blend of 9 songs. I am sure those will groove a lot live on stage…
