Of course Slayer is a strange band to have on a rap label, but that made sure that a lot of people came to know the band. Slayer has always been one of the most influential thrash bands around, although they don't seem to change their style (after this album they kept on repeating themselves a bit, not like bands as Napalm Death, but still they don't change their music like other bands do).

Most consider this album as their best effort so far, and I'm one of them. This album is simply brilliant, it's the way thrash should be played (and sung), short, fast, adrenaline filled songs that explode in your face! A must for everyone who takes his collection serious! Even a lot of death metal fans will agree with me.

The album Starts off with Angel Of Death, an excellent track with a headmoving riff and double bass pedal work in some parts. This song wouldn't have turned into a classic if the band had removed the brilliant solo at the end of the track, where the speed is even increased. After this killer follows a bunch of shorter songs, of which Altar Of Sacrifice, Reborn and the slower Jesus Saves stand out. Last but NOT least is Raining Blood!!! Killing all what is left of you, with the most famous intro ever written by the band.

The only thing weak about this album except for that it's too damn short, is that the production is bad. But hey, it's released in 1986, that should also be taken into consideration. I Quote this album 9.5/10, the album itself is a masterpiece that influenced metal forever, but as I said, the production is weak.

note: 9.5/10
