SEVENTH ONE „Sacrifice”

SEVENTH ONE „Sacrifice” - okładka

German power metal has really come to the forfront in the last five years with bands such as Grave Digger, Running Wild, and Primal Fear. The year is 2002 and we now have a very worthy addition to add to the fold in Seventh One. This being a freshman effort for this band it leaves you wanting more. The band consists of Rino Fredh on vocals, Christoffer Hermansson on guitars, Johannes Losback on guitars, Jorgen Olsson on bass, Tobias R Kellgren on drums. This disc is deeply layerd with ten of the most consistant power metal tracks that has been put out by a band in a little while. Vocal work on this disc is rich and and thick but very clean and clear. The rest of the band backs Rino up with some very well done whole group harmony that gives you the vision of the viking era of time. The whole group harmony builds a nice background for the band. The drums and bass on this disc work well together giving you the heavy low end that is needed but does not take away from the twin guitar sound. There is a rythmn and a feel to the sound here that gives me a vision of wars and battles fought in far away lands.

This is not a fantasy disc just very good power metal that leaves you wanting more. I myself am looking forward to see what this band can accomplish in the future. This disc gets a rare 9.5 out of 10. Not many new bands get such a high rating there first time out but this is a very wise buy for the power metal fan.
