Those of you out there that think that power metal and other genre are all there is you are all wrong. I have just listened to a brand new band that brings back a style of rock that has been pushed into the background for quite some time now and gives it a twist. If any of you can think back to when southern rock was popular then you will remember bands such as Lynard Skynard, Blackfoot, and Molly Hatchet. Well you can take the heavier elements of all these bands and fuse them with a vein of power metal. I know this may sound odd but these guys pull it off with class and style. The band is Kennie Poole (vocals & Drums), David Poole ( Guitar & Vocals), Greg Wright (lead guitar), Jason Crane (Bass). These are four guys that love their music and it shows on this disk. The vocals on this cd remind me of two great singers such as Rickey Medlocke of Blackfoot and the legendary Johnny Van Zant of Lynard Skynard. Very powerfull and very confidant. Musically the disc is more than solid for a first disc from any band. The Drums and Bass carry the bottom end of the sound with a thick and rich vibe that is delivered with confidence. It is very hard for me to catagorize the over all sound of the guitar work for it has many elements to it. Southern rock, Power metal, progressive metal, and just plain old classic rock. Attitude is the best way for me to sum it up. Production is the only part of the disc that i would have to say that could use a little polishing but give into consideration that the disc has been released on a very small and very young Label these things are going to happen. Not to say the production is bad it could just use a little polishing.
All in all the only thing that can be said about this disc is if you like your power metal with a twist or if you like your southern rock with a twist this is one damn fine disc. These guys have really come up with a sound that i believe will take them places. This disc receives a 8.5 out of 10.
