FORGOTTEN TOMB and CARONTE to team up for European tour in 2017

The Italian black/doom metal heavyweights FORGOTTEN TOMB (Agonia Records), soon to celebrate their 18th year of existence with 9 albums under their belt, will hit the road along with the ritualistic doom mongers CARONTE (Van Records) between April and May 2017. Both bands will be presenting their brand new albums, that will be released next year. The tour will be handled by Daemon Star Agency.

The upcoming tour will be FORGOTTEN TOMB’s first after the successful “European Upheaval Tour” with Nocturnal Depression, which took place late 2015 – the same year which saw the release of their latest installment, “Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love”.

FORGOTTEN TOMB are considered to be “one of the most significant bands in the depressive/suicidal black metal canon”, as described by British music writer Dayal Patterson for Metal Hammer Magazine. Reffering to their style, he wrote: “Taking inspiration from everything from Thorns and Burzum to Katatonia and Paradise Lost, and even Joy Division and Christian Death, the group’s sound is rooted in doomy black metal but has increasingly added an effective blues rock/hard rock influence as the years have passed”.

With nearly 18 years of activity, 8 full-length albums (and 9th on the way), a double live in-studio album, a DVD, and live shows all over Europe, FORGOTTEN TOMB definitely deserves its cult-like status in the extreme metal scene. Their now-classic installments “Songs To Leave” (2002) and “Springtime Depression” (2003) gave birth to a whole new sub-genre, now regarded as “Depressive Black/Doom Metal”. In time, they managed to evolve it, destroy it, and reshape it, with the highly acclaimed “Love’s Burial Ground” (2004), the controversial “Negative Megalomania” (2007) and the ground-breaking “Under Saturn Retrograde” (2011), soon followed by “And Don’t Deliver Us From Evil” (2012). Their latest album “Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love” was released to acclaim in 2015.
