BROKEN MELODY released the second album in 2009 year and I do not know why but they keep silent now, because I think their album is successful.
The men began playing with the sharp sound of guitars – dynamically and energetically, with singing on mouths – melodic and melancholic. The vocal sometimes is underlined by growl and it intensifies the predatory tone. Some vocal exaltations also rise in to high tones. And the sharp riffs of guitars alternate with the melodious solos which are closed in the average-quick paces…
In total – the works are predatory and simultaneously melodic (inspired by melancholy, darkness, balladic motives and aggression). However the melodious tone overweighs in this music and this is mainly audible in the romantic singings, the solos as well as in the parties of acoustic guitar.
Sincerely saying I feel Thrash Metal with addition of Hardcore and Power Metal, and rather Hard Rock in this playings. And therefore this is difficult to unambiguously pigeonhole the music of BROKEN MELODY, because the balladic motives (in style GUNS'N'ROSES, BON JOVI or EUROPE) are in one pole of this album and the pretty heavy and aggressive parties (in Thrash Metal style or Hardcore) are in opposite pole of this musical material.
Summing up – this is interesting modernist musical mixture… Intentionally I wrote “modernist”, because at present fashionable and wide comprehended Hardcore stretches out its tentacles to everywhere and it also reflected its brand in this music.
Unfortunately, the sound of guitars is too sharp for me (for such plying).
