Koch Signs DIRTFED, Clown of SLIPKNOT To Produce Album

(October XX, 2007) – New York , NY – KOCH Records is proud to announce the signing of up and coming heavy metal band Dirtfedd. The group begins production on their new album The American Nightmare later this month at ARC Studios, and will be produced by M. Shawn Crahan (Clown) from Slipknot. The album is slated for release in March 2008 and will include the tracks “Body Bag,” “No One Gets Left Behind,” and the live show favorite “Salute.”

Originating in Lincoln , Nebraska , Dirtfedd has been going since 2002, but it wasn’t until recently that Slipknot’s Crahan discovered the act and brought to the world’s attention the music he describes as “right here, right now.” Crahan goes on to express his excitement at working with the new band, “They are from the Midwest , which gives them a big advantage in how to shape their own vision, rather than get caught up in clichéd scenes…I personally cannot wait until we give this art to the world. It's time things change.”

He adds, “I am equally as excited to be working with KOCH Records. They are dedicated to being aggressive in today's ever changing record industry, and are willing to help further my vision of where I think music and art should be in this reality: Truthful.”

KOCH’s VP of Metal Scott Givens says “Shawn has always pushed the musical boundaries in everything he has ever touched and Dirtfedd are no exception. I could not be happier that they have chosen KOCH to be their home and look forward to working together with both the band and Shawn to bring Dirtfedd’s vision to life.”

Crahan states, “Scott and I have known one another since the beginning of my career in 1998, and he is as real as it gets when it comes to getting great music out to the people who really matter, the fans.”

Over the years Dirtfedd has shared the stage with national touring metal acts such as Lamb of God, Unearth, and God Forbid. The musical style of Dirtfedd is a collaboration of metal, hardcore, jazz, blues, punk and southern rock molded into a punishingly heavy mix.
