MINISTRY Front man Al Jourgensen To Provide Movie Score for “Wicked Lake”

Ministry front man Al Jourgensen has been confirmed to score, music supervise and create the soundtrack for the upcoming horror feature film “Wicked Lake,” according to the film's executive producers Carl Morano and John Carchietta of Fever Dreams, the feature's production company.

“Wicked Lake,” which Jourgensen described as “Faster Pussycat Kill Kill gone very, very bad,” is the sordid supernatural tale of a group of four co-ed girls on a weekend getaway tailed by two clans of deranged male predatory perverts.

Jourgensen is also set to perform a small role in the film as a perverted art professor. “Not exactly a stretch for me,” states Jourgensen.

Commented Morano and Carchietta, “We are delirious and overjoyed with Al's involvement in 'Wicked Lake' but we fear that his manic energy and supernatural musical genius could be a sign of the impending apocalypse or the end of cinema as we know it.”

Tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2008 release, “Wicked Lake” is directed by Jourgensen's good friend, filmmaker Zach Passero. Passero, whose past feature credits include “The Big, Weird and Normal” and “Motel: Glimpse,” directed Ministry's video “Lieslieslies” (2006) as well as hand-rendering the animated video “Fire Engine” for Jourgensen's side project, The Revolting Cocks. Jourgensen and Passero first met on the set of Ministry's “No W” video at Sonic Ranch, TX in 2004.

“Zach is one of the most talented, driven young artists I've met in a long time,” said Jourgensen. “We both have the same twisted penchant for dark humor, so it's a match made in Horror Hell – it's gonna be sick, heavy and gruesome.”

Retorts Passero, “The timing is perfect – the pinnacle of a natural progression of our friendship and collaborations. Plus, Al seems to be radiating manic creativity these days which is just what the 'Lake' needs.”

While “Wicked Lake” is Jourgensen's debut scoring for a feature film, it's not his first foray into soundtracks, as he wrote and performed tracks for Steven Spielberg's “Artificial Intelligence: AI” (2001), Paul Verhoeven's “RoboCop” (1987) and “The Matrix” (1999) – the soundtrack captured a Grammy.

Jourgensen will write, produce and record the music for “Wicked Lake” at his El Paso, TX compound, and the CD will be released on his own 13th Planet Records. Expect the soundtrack to feature tracks from 13th Planet's stable of artists – Ministry, Prong, The Revolting Cocks, Ascension of The Watchers, False Icons and Mob Research.

Passero joins co-producer filmmaker Chris Sivertson who adapted the original Adam Rockoff screenplay for “Wicked Lake,” the fourth feature film the duo have joined forces on. Recent Sivertson/Passero films include “The Lost,” “I Know Who Killed Me,” and “May.”

Remarks Sivertson, “When Zach and I were at film school together, Ministry was often the soundtrack of our madness. Now having Al on board, we've come full circle. I don't think anyone is prepared for what we're about to unleash. This could be the end of everything.”

“Wicked Lake” production begins shooting this week on locations in New Mexico and in Jourgensen's hometown of El Paso.

Ministrys The Last Sucker will be released on September 18th.
