Sun Rise Benefiz Festival for the hospital for children in Schömberg/Germany

Actually the fun began on Friday. But I just came down to see Axxis who played the Saturday. I was very surprised to see that the billing was full with the Kiss Forever Band (aha) and Chinchilla!

Doors were open early, about 6 pm. The ice hall “Polarion” had the right name this evening. Although there wasn´t any ice in it. It was getting fuller and fuller (with many Chinchilla fans). So the Kiss Forever Band had the luck to play in front of about 800 guys. 8:15 pm. The show started. Over one hour of a best of set through the Kiss era in costumes! Fire and blood spilling inclusive! The band was very good. 4 people, 4 singers! Very various and different!

Around 10 pm Chinchilla from Böblingen/Germany went on stage. Somehow I thought they were a little softer in former times… Perhaps it is not like that because of the new guy Roberto (bass) or of the new short hair of always talking singer Tommy? I don´t know… Well, Tommy is a big competition for Axxis-Berny (most in talking. The third person in the round could be Edguy´s Tobias Sammet…). Furthermore he said: “I hope, the sound is good. We didn´t have a soundcheck before…” to add in the same sentence: “Now we are going to play a song, which we performed while we had soundcheck!” Aaaaha!! 🙂 www.chinchilla.rocks.de

For me this concert of the Swabians was definitely a trip to power metal! That is why I think, it was special! Unfortuanately half of the hall was frozen to the ground. That is why just the die hard fans came out and banged. Well, I didn´t belong to them. But anyway I tried to get away from the total transformation into an icicle. So I banged my head. Totally seen: Much speaking of Tommy, a great sound and great musicians (Roberto, don´t you have neck pain?!)! Go on like that! I should buy me a Chinchilla Cd…

Break to Axxis: Tanja has to sit down for a moment, because her back hurts. A tea would have been wonderful. Unfortunately, there was just mulled wine (I made jokes about that a few hours ago…). But I don´t like that mulled wine. I caught a bit power and so I could get back to my place to see the final showdown for this evening: Axxis! Singer Bernhard Weiss with a cap and a jacket (he was right!). They started with one of my favourite songs of the latest album Time Machine “Angel of Death”. Then they went ahead with “Lost in the darkness” (in former times I always thought, this would be one song ;-). Afterwards Berny told us a few words with the experience that on stage it is not warmer than in the crowd. We had a journey through all of Axxis´ albums: “Brother Moon”, “My little Pricness”, “Stay don´t leave me” and “Little war”. To the enthusiasm of the fans, Axxis played the on tour missed “Heaven in black”. Furthermore: “Save me” and “Let us fight”. With the instrumental „Trash in Tibet“ guitarist Guido Wehmeyer showed us his ability. Berny just said afterwards with a smile: “Yes, yes, that was not that bad…” 🙂 Some time the concert manager came with a huge cake and nobody really knew what happened. And even the Axxis fans and guys (!) didn´t know what happened. But fast it was clear: Axxis had its 15 year band anniversary party. Man, they started while I was making wee-wee in my nappies! After everybody was happy, the show went on: The on the last tour performed acoustic set was here again: Corinna, a fan, took that rattle and made a noise. She sometimes let us hear her voice, but only for a laugh, not for singing – first at “Fire and Ice” (Fire would have been great, but ice was there…), then “Touch the rainbow”. After “Kings made of Steel” and a photo Corinna could go and Axxis played “Wind in the night”, “Little look back” and “Kingdom of the night”.

Us Berny got a t-shirt… Very ambiguous… DORT MUND. If you write it together like Dortmund, it is just a city. The city, where some Axxis guys are from. But if you write it like Dort Mund, it is German and means: There is the mouth. And an arrow with the destination was on the t-shirt, too 🙂 That was a very lovely present of a fan, who just wanted to give a tribute to Axxis 😉 Berny pulled over this thing – just because of the coldness – sure! 🙂

Surely the fans wouldn´t like Axxis to go. And that is why Axxis came back with “Flashback Radio” (again one of my favourites)! “Living in a world” was leading to “Na, na, na, goodbye”. And after we all had sung, had banged our heads and waved goodbye, we felt a bit warmer. And maybe, Berny, this time has your dream come true that everybody will go home on their nipples… www.axxis.de
After a really great entertained concert night, the fans were able to get some autographs and photos at the merchandise. Chinchilla were there as well. If someone in Kiss Forever Band was there, too, I can´t tell. Because they look different without the make up… But it was very nice to see that it is possible in the metal scene to contact the bands! I am very happy about being a metal fan! See you next time…
