John Longstreth (ORIGIN) talks drumming in new video interview with drumtalk

John Longstreth of U.S. technical death metal giants ORIGIN has been featured in the most recent video-episode of Drumtalk. Considered as one of the best extreme metal drummers in the world, John shared his rich experience and insights on the art of drumming in an almost 19-minute long clip. The interview was recorded in Germany, during ORIGIN’s European tour. Watch the video below:

ORIGIN are among the leaders of metal’s recent wave of extremity. Formed in Kansas (North America) in 1997, the group is considered to be one of the top, most intense and most brutal technical death metal forces to be reckoned with. The band’s latest offering “Omnipresent” is no exception. “A culmination of 15 years of technical death metal brutality that transcends definition” – states the band. And continues: “From light speed to absolute zero, it is a journey to the farthest reaches of the universe, to the darkest nether of the mind”.

Touring in support of “Omnipresnt” is a technical metal feast, which has been proven during the group’s recent co-headlining shows across North America (with extreme metal heroes Krisiun) and European trek with Marduk and Immolation. ORIGIN’s impressive touring resume includes North & South America, Asia, Australia and Europe. The band is currently preparing for a new US trek with Belphegor, Shining and Abigail Williams, set to take place late August 2016.

ORIGIN’s line-up:
Jason Keyser – vocals
Paul Ryan – guitars/vocals
