BLACK COBRA hit road with HIGH ON FIRE

Explosive San Francisco, CA duo BLACK COBRA will join fellow Bay Area riff lords HIGH ON FIRE and Montreal’s PRIESTESS for a five week U.S. tour set to kick off tonight at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, MN. The fast-rising unit will appear on the massive trek as special guests of HIGH ON FIRE and continues to tour in support of its latest album Chronomega (Southern Lord).

Formed in 2002 by Jason Landrian (guitar, ex-Cavity) and Rafael Martinez (drums, also of Acid King), BLACK COBRA plays high energy, progressive “riff rock” that is at once powerful, expressive, confident and commanding. Taking its name from an 80’s Italian movie series (“We're also into nature and wild beasts, so we both agreed that the name of a vicious snake reflected the ferocity of our music”), BLACK COBRA delivers feral live performances that have been described as “a full-on shredfest of epic power.” The band stunned music fans at its recent SXSW showcases and now prepares for its most substantial pinch to date; touring with the critically acclaimed HIGH ON FIRE.

On the topic of the impending tour, the band states, “We're really excited to be playing alongside High on Fire as well as Priestess. This tour is going to be a raging beast of incendiary madness and we're more than happy to add to the devastation.”
