XERATH announce new bassist

UK-based experimental/progressive extreme metallers XERATH have announced the addition of bassist Chris Clarke (ex- Hollow Earth Theory) to the group's ranks. According to XERATH, “Chris made his live debut with the band supporting VADER in London and recently played Hammerfest in Wales to a huge metal hungry crowd.”

XERATH last year parted ways with guitarist Andy Phillips. The group's bassist, Owain Williams, has since taken over guitar duties for the band.

XERATH released its debut album, Xerath I, on May 25, 2009 via Candlelight Records. The CD was mixed in France by Brett Caldas-Lima (CYNIC). The band was formed in 2007 by guitarist Andy Phillips, drummer Michael Pitman and bassist Owain Williams, and was later joined by Richard Thomson on vocals.Originally started as an experiment to combine film-score scounds with syncopated guitar rhythms, XERATH evolved into a full-fledged gigging band with a clear direction.
