Music: Industrial Metal

Country: Sweden
Cool songs: Karaoke

This project was formed in 2004 (do not confuse with THE 8TH SIN from Netherlands) by a few musicians, again, involved some time ago in different musical industries. They were (as the bio on Black Lodge website says) known from some time all over the world (mainly in EU and the US), although they have decided to create a masterpiece of their own, one which will conquer the whole world… even South Pole.

When some industrial stuff eventually ends up in my hands, I expect it to be sublime and to carry some artistic expression or meaning. In case of 8TH SIN I have found none of these. It is just a cheap copy of any first industrial. Whereas the beginning with strong and varied riff gives some hope (mainly thanks to that fast and quite strong start), the rest of the album is being pulled down by the abuse of electronic stuff. The riffs are becoming less and less interesting and they sound as if they were coming out of a Xerox machine. I really expected something more than constant and brainless repeating.

Such industrial metal is not an easy listening. It requires patience and a wide spectrum of imagination, mainly from the listener. But first of all, that spectrum should by applied by the performer.
