Quo Vadis presents 13 songs on their latest album KROL, which translates to King in English. This is a really hard CD to review as Quo Vadis isn’t afraid of branching out their musical creativity into numerous, uncharted directions. There is a fair amount of guitar fretwork and heavy metal abrasives, but there are also lots of avant- garde and Rammstein type of ideas. However, there is never anything quite soft enough to gain Quo Vadis American radio-play, which was awarded to Rammstein in the past.
The lyrics are all in a foreign language, based on the few articles I can find about the band on the internet written in English, I believe they are performed in German, but I easily could be mistaken. Most of the time the vocalist sounds like an evil version of Chris Boltendahl (Grave Digger), except Boltendalh performs Grave Digger’s material in English.
Heavy, thrash inspired Remmstein metal with hints of electronic and other obscure vocal and sampling experimentation. Quo Vadis is in a world of their own, but the metal they play is dark and threatening for those who dare embrace their style within a CD player near you!
