The band was formed on the ashes of the old Estonian death metal DECEASE. After the split up, the music of the newborn band became more complex and the musicians started to look for new inspirations. They recorded four albums on which they were experimenting with some jazz content, and that is how their style consolidated.

The beginning of ‘Distorted Horizon’ shows the delicate sound of thunder – after a heavy and gruesome start, the music oscillates around gothic, ambient, psychedelic and progressive metal, with elements of jazz. This complex beginning winds on later, delicate guitars, strong bass lines, heavy and dynamic riffs (which should be build up to longer parts) create a cool feast, a musical roundabout, which does not swirl too fast or too slow, the speed is just perfect and allows everyone to turn on in their normal pace. From the technical point of view, there is nothing to pick on. Maybe the vocal could be a bit more innovative, or different, because the majority of feminine voices in gothic-like music sound very much alike. But this is only my personal judgement.

ECHOSILENCE ‘Distorted Horizon’ is one of the most varied and complex album I have recently heard. And such a musical orgy is what I like the most. Definitely worth listening to. And deserves some dole!
