CHICKTOPSY

We all knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less exciting: We can now officially feast our eyes on the brand spanking new CRYPTOPSY! To say it's a new look for the band would be an understatement, but while the visuals have certainly changed and they now have keyboardist Maggie Durand to give them an even more haunting atmosphere, rest assured that the technicality and balls-to-the-wall aggression remain the core of the band's sound. If anything, this breathes new life into a band that was already a living legend in the technical death metal realm. They'll be hitting the studio anytime now with new vocalist Matt McGachy to record a follow-up to 2005's Once Was Not, so wait patiently for that one next year. And if you live in Mexico, Central or South America, you best start religiously checking the tour dates on the band's MySpace page because CRYPTOPSY will be playing live for the first time in your respective region.
