Despite the fact that only a few days ago I heard about the existence of the band Elitaria, as indeed, probably like many of you, it turns out that experienced musicians play there on a metal scene, the guy hiding behind the nickname D666 made the music at the beginning of the nineties in bands such as: Autopsia, Ravenous and Trifixion, while the second musician – MB ripped off the strings in a group – Kuru. Elitaria was began their journey in 2004 under the name Diazepam, then after the first demo they change it just for Elitaria. Musicians release one full album, two demos and two Ep-es, of which new one called “Widescreen Satanas” was published this year and just fell into my hands couple of days ago.
Album begins with a dark, claustrophobic industrial- dark ambient intro, very cold and gloomy, moreover, followed by the sulphurous and brutal hit in the form of black metal hell. Black metal by Elitaria, is a very fast black metal, angry and disturbing, which with various kinds like samples blended with the galloping rhythm section, aggressive riffs and screeching vocals interestingly diversifies whole by the thickening atmosphere to the maximum. Band the entire duration of the disc does not stop almost all, sometimes the music catches his breath in a few moments maintained in medium tempo, trance and slightly psychotic. Samples are very cold and gloomy which combined with black metal storm creates a strong industrial and even cosmic climate of the dark, dehumanized aura. Listening to this Cd I had the feeling of being on a deserted planet, cold shrouded in darkness, where their toxic wind gusts reminds us of the ghosts of the past, living in this place. Black performed by Elitaria reminds me of furious inferno like Marduk or Dark Funeral and climate of Burzum on album “Filosofem” and even with the early Voivod, generally with black metal of the nineties, you can feel the unique atmosphere in the air while listening to this stuff. Crowning album outro closes music very well by deep and dark ambient's atmosphere.
All in all “Widescreen Satanas” is quite interesting metal creature, aside from the fatal cover and fairly flat production, but you can get used to it at the appropriate concentration. I understand the fact that the band took it on his own shoulders, so ran out experienced and suitable producer, who probably would have these pretty cool sounds made even more diabolical. Generally Elitaria a pretty good chunk of the industrial black metal, with good compositions and expectations for the future.
