TORMAN MAXT presents us concept-album talking about the Book of Job from Old Testament in the way of Progressive Rock. “Book of Job: Problem of Pain Part 1” was released in 2007. These three brothers have released four albums.

This trio concentrates rather on producing the mood than on showing the masterly skills of band. However we will also hear here solos full of the imaginativeness and compiled serves. But these are rather melodies from Rock or outright from Southern Rock than inclinations of Jazz. And the narrated stories by the band are mostly instrumental, taking under attention the relation of vocal parties to different guitar solos and passages. Here are a lot chords, clean guitars and the climate of Hard Rock from 70th years and additionally it is underlined by the singing placed in high tones. And the choral motifs from the beginning of the album give the depth and the aftertaste of mysticism for the music… it is a bit like in style of BLACK SABBATH from the album “Tyr”. However unfortunately in next tracks we do not encounter such choral singings… Moreover the compositions also contain intercalations from under the sign of Heavy Metal and Post Rock. And therefore the music sometimes is pretty heavy and dynamic and also very melodic as well as climatic.

Thanks to complex and spatial arrangements, the team creates specific somewhat dark and melancholy atmosphere with psychedelic element. Though from time to time this atmosphere brings even more joyful form or even ill-boding climate…. Despite these stylistic varieties, the album is very coherent and by the way portrays the interesting guitar sounds and melodies.
