Finnish power metallers from AGONIZER has debuted on the metal scene. And I am well suprised of their debut album. It's a very good mix of melody and heavy metal including quite good vocalist! They are young and they have talent, especially in various melodies supported by keyboard, it's nothing new and it's propably a domain of Finnish metallers (whole metal scene) to write catchy and melodic songs.

How Agonizer sounds? I think metal presented by AGONIZER is simmilar to SONATA ARCTICA mixed with Angra something between like this, but without whole progressive/folk elemenents of ANGRA.
Songs are mid-tempo with impressive solo playing by Jari-Pekka Perälä, filled by characteristic keyboard sound of Patrik Laine who sometimes takes a piece of melancholy, piece of horror, piece of orchestra and mix all of this by his own.

What else we can say? Oh yeah, the singer is a… I dont know, I like him and that's all he is not good or impressive but his voice makes AGONIZER more friendlier to Me.

AGONIZER is definately a concert band I wish I could saw them 1,400 meters underground in finnish mine where they have release party of The birth/the end.
Overally mix of good melodies, strong voice without trying to copy Michael Kiske or another singer, cathy choruses and heavy metal riffing is all that I can wish to debut band.

If you are listening to power/heavy metal and you cant wait for new Sabaton album just take a try of AGONIZER. You would not regret.
