It is a pity to hear that here in the middle of our group of brothers and sisters of heavy metal, the bands have to explain themselves that they are a band and no further project of well-known bandmembers.

Here a band waits for you, where friendship is a big word, ALTHOUGH persons involved play in well-known bands. But we do not have a look at those right now, but:

IN BLACKEST VELVET.

A band of the local metal scene (Germany) that plays the so called modern melodic death metal:

6 songs with a playing time of 20 minutes show us the story of the sextet:

Already „Lamb of Liberty“ starts dark. Adorable, already the first growl!!

A mélange of dark metal and heavy melodic death wants you to shake your head (for example „Flames await“).

Sometimes IN BLACKEST VELVET try to go another way but merciless brutality: „Bastard show“ has also got clean vocals, whereas „Whorehouse“ is more a blend of melody and Metalcore.

I cannot find faults in here: This piece has got everything that it needs: melodies, brutality and catchy tracks.

Just a proposal: What about some more dark vocals…? The first growl was a killer! 

Result: sweeping, independent, refreshing, interesting – that rocks! Furthermore this whole thing sounds of a piece! Comparable bands? No way! And where´s the label contract?

note: 9/10
