ROTTING CHRIST, HORRIFIED, NAER MATARON

After many live appearances around Greece, it was time for Rotting Christ to play live in Athens. Horrified who had just released their 3rd album “Deus Diabolus Inversus” and Naer Mataron would warm us up. The show was sold-out and Naer Mataron hit the stage with “Iketis”. The fans welcomed the band and the show had just begun.

Grim black metal is what we heard with fire breathing and distortion on bass guitar. They played songs like “Faethon”, “Diastric Fields Of War”, “ Wolf Of Lions” and a cover to Dark Throne's “Transylvanian Hunger”. In general they were good even if their music is not the most appropriate for a concert.

It was time for Horrified, one of the older Greek metal bands. They have played only a few live shows during these years and we were all expecting to see them again. Unfortunately the sound was not on their side and as a result the melodies of the guitar which are very important to their music could not be heard. The band performed many songs from their last album, some from “Animal” and “Down The Valley Of The Great Encounter” from their amazing debut. I hope we have the chance to see them again soon with good sound.

When Rotting Christ hit the stage they had to face similar sound problems with Horrified but only for the first 4-5 songs. Later the sound was ok and they managed to show us their skills. Many songs from their last releases but what I liked most was the performance of “Forest of N'gai”, “The Fifth Illusion”, “Non Serviam”, “Fgmenth Thy Gift” and “The Sign Of Evil Existence”. It was the 4th time I attended a Rotting Christ's show and I can say it was a very good one. I hope next time sound will be better for every band.
