Good Songs: Lovely overdose, Fallin, Insecure

Crekko… A little, unimportant (because for the writer of these words not familiar) band from the forest where the cuckoo clocks are from… Oh! Just a moment, they are not so unimportant, because Crekko from Freudenstadt in the Black (Metal 😉 haha) Forest in Germany released with „Essence“ their first opus, which could become a great hope! The band calls their work „crosscore“ and this is not wrong. Finally “Essence” doesn´t fit in any genre. You can orient on Nu Metal, definitely. But Crekko´s music owns several facetts of rock ´n roll. The guitars are a wall of steel and the vocals shows brutality! The three German guys (singer/guitarist Mario Selter, bassist Klaus Asbach and drummer Philipp Wolff) became a band in the year of 2003, after the former band which included 5, 6 members respectively splitted up in 2004. Crekko could reach a local status for example with a lot of club concerts and open air concerts.

The Germans produced „Essence“ in their homestudio. This album is totally seen real hot stuff. Just with “Fallin” you can find a little calmer song that could be heard from the radio. When I think of Crekko while playing live, I can see some short-haired metalheads jumping around in front of the stage.

Good beginning! Nice production. Just the drums sound a bit too metallic.
