Another great surprise from Sleaszy Rider records. Womb Of Maggots are well known in greek underground scene but I haven`t listened to them until now. I had received some comments about them which were mainly bad. So, when I got their debut in my hands I was curious about what I was going to listen to. The result was satisfying. Womb Of Maggots manage to combine many metal styles from death and black metal to nu metal. I found similarities to bands like Rotting Christ, of their late releases, System Of A Dawn, Samael and many others. I can`t say that they have a personal sound by the time all songs differ from each other and I think that they have not decided yet the style they most prefer. But this makes the listening of the album more pleasant and you cannot say it is tiring. Overall it is a very promising debut which also contains a cover to Kreator`s “Phobia”.
