THE LEGION „Revocation”

IT all depends where you’re coming from I guess, but for me the absolute best thing about ‘The legion’s’ second album is the gloriously conceived artwork from Kris Verwimp. It’s rather sad hey? Here is a rather new Swedish Black Metal band – put together by none other than Marduk’s drummer ‘Emil Drautinovic’ and the most interesting thing I can find about it is the cover art; that and their tremendous spiky logo.

SEVEN WITCHES „Amped”

I’ve always had a lot of time for Seven Witches. Although their earlier material didn’t quite hit the mark, there was always a hint of something brewing beneath the surface – with main man songwriter/guitarist Jack Frost being the absolute star of the act – It wasn’t until 2003’s crunching ‘Passage to the Other Side’ that we finally saw what this band was capable of.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER „Buried in the Front Yard”

With one of the weirdest names in metal, Pennsylvania’s ‘Rumpelstiltskin Grinder’ (from here on known as RsG) have unleased their debut full length on the mighty Relapse label. Having not heard these guys before, I was open to anything that this might throw at me – with a name as convoluted as theirs and an album entitled ‘Buried in the Front Yard’ adjectives such as ‘Gore’ and ‘Grind’ were the most obvious descriptions that came to mind.
