GLITTERTIND „Evige Asatro”
Mmmm Im not too convinced by this one folks. Theres been a heap of praise dealt out for Glittertind and this debut release, much of it being just a tad too positive in my eyes.
THRESHOLD „Subsurface”
Cool songs: Mission Profile, The Art of Reason, Pressure, Static, Ground Control.
.
ISIS „Panopticon”
Isis is a great, great band. Their early material (SGNL 05 and Celestial) was ahead of its time and 2002s stunning Oceanic topped my best list for that year.
FINNUGOR „Darkness Needs Us”
Cool songs: Fire-Raiser of Devastation, Our Blood Is the Ocean, Lord of the Darkest Freedom, Wings of Kryy.
.
BURY YOUR DEAD „Cover Your Tracks”
Cool songs: Magnolia, Mission Impossible 2, Risky Business, The Color of Money, Vanilla Sky
.
SILENT SCYTHE „Suffer in Silence”
Cool songs: Old World Disorder, Backstabber, Suffer in Silence, To each his own
.
CHASM, THE „The Spell of Retribution”
Cool songs: From the Curse, Conjuring the new Apocalypse, Fortress, Manifest my Intervention
.
SOCIAL DISTORTION „Sex, Love and Rock n Roll”
Cool songs: Reach for the Sky, Dont Take me for Granted, I wasnt born to follow, Winners and Losers
.
ROSES ARE RED „Conversations”
What the hell? Since when did Trustkill start signing lite rock emo bands? Trustkill has long been the bastion for harsh, abrasive Hardcore/Metalcore, however with signing of Roses are Red (and to a lesser extent Buffalos It Dies Today) it indicates an attempt to branch out and embrace other forms of indie style rock. Im not convinced that its a good thing and Trustkill is certain to take some heat for it.
ELECTRIC WIZARD „We Live”
By all reports, Electric Wizard was a virtual train wreck after the disastrous US tour of 2002. Bassist Bagshaw and drummer Greening walked upon returning to the UK, leaving core dopester Jus Osborn to pick up the pieces.
