EVIL is a Danish band from the past. The band was established in 1982 and soon, because in the mid of 80s, it fell apart. But in the twenty-first century the band returned and in 2015 came up as one-person band with a full-album “Shoot The Messenger”. The interesting fact is that the vocals on the album gave S?ren Nico Adamsen (ex-ARTILLERY) longtime friend of the creator of the album.

“Shoot The Messenger” is the first album where all the instrumental parts were prepared by one member of the band – Freddie Wolf. The creator of album to forming the music took inspirations from Heavy Metal of the 80s. Although, you can hear the elements of Thrash Metal here. So, as happens in Heavy Metal, it is very loud with the distorted guitars, the thrilling solos and the intense, hoarse vocals. I think that also important is role of the bass guitar, which sometimes is more activated. Thanks to the excellent combination of instrumental section with the vocals you can feel the fantastically created all kinds of musical tension, which are also characteristic for the genre of Metal. Heavy Metal is a specific substance of sound with the awesome manipulation of chords, which growing in strength and making a good show. I had the particular enjoyment to the song “Keep It True” – the balladic prelude with the continuation of musical dark adventure.

EVIL is a typical Heavy Metal band, which created ideal material to pattern of the musical genre. EVIL can be compared to the one of originators of Heavy Metal genre that is JUDAS PRIEST or else to ACCEPT. EVIL is impressive and I think I would be happy to listen them at a concert where the climate of show could be cause of an additional charm of the music of EVIL.
