Standout tracks: Just a fraction, heavy petting, Mistress Mistrust

This is only the debut album from GENTLEMEN’S PISTOL. When you look at what the band has already achieved you would expect them to be a bit further into their recording career. They have already toured with CIRCULUS, WITCHCRAFT and legendary 70s stoners LEAFHOUND. So with this in mind I have been eagerly expecting this album for a while now.

The band wears its influences on their sleeves. This is music all about going back through a time warp back to the end of the 60s and start of 70s when things were that bit more psychedelic. Listening to the album you can hear the influence of CREAM, HENDRIX, FREE, SIR LORD BALTIMORE and LED ZEPPELIN before they got bogged down in Tolkien. These guys seriously rock out and look the part with their long hair and facial hair. The album is full of catchy rhythms, saucy lyrics, attitude, blues rock and just all round awesome rock & roll tracks. The lyrics cover heavy petting, mother loving, self-love, and women are high on the agenda. Good old fashioned themes for rock music. The album is great fun from start to finish. It lives up to the standard of all the bands they are trying to replicate and makes for a fantastic tribute to the 70s. This is retro music at its best.
