There sometimes comes weird stuff from Italy like for example Rhapsody 😉 or progressive things like this band that has the name DYNAMIC LIGHTS. 1997 those five guys made a start. After a few demo CD´s and line-up-changes, now the time has come: Shape, the debut of the Italians, is released and ready for a review. You can compare DYNAMIC LIGHTS with Wolverine, Pain of Salvation and Fates Warning. Heavy parts and complex rhythmics play a big role, as well as the melodies, where the piano is important. The album shows its pleasures after a few runnings. The opening track „In the hands of a siren“ in the opposite is very nice from the beginning. And not at least because of the guest vocals of Jamina Jansson, who does a beautiful duet with singer Matteo Infante. Partly strange is the combination of fusion and metal, which is very unusual for metalhead ears.

Recommendable, because the most metallic song on the album: „Going to nowhere“! Typically for the prog metal are the lengths of the songs. Just two songs under 6 minutes playing time. DYNAMIC LIGHTS may go on tour with that longplayer with the Swede´s in Nightingale. Further concerts are already planned. In any case, they are invited to play the ProgPower Festival in October this year. With their melodic tracks Matteo Infante (Vocals), Marco Poderi (Guitars), Simone del Pivo (Drums), Raffaele Mariotti (Bass) and Giovanni Bedetti (Keyboards) surely will catch many progressive fans.
