HERCULES PROPAGANDA was formed in 2010 in Germany. In 2015 they released album “Scream For Action” consisting of nine songs. The disc is dressed in controversial cover-art of booklet with surprising, specific pictures, which I believe are suitable to the music performed by these artists. The creators of the band look like unconventional and rather like humorous men, which create peculiar image (the latex fashion) both musically and visually.
They play energetically, loudly and it is very clearly that they want to making noise. An important role is the playing of the guitars, which give rather sharp riffs and solos. This kind of creativity do not kidnap me rather, but the fragments, which reminded me AC/DC and MOTORHEAD are quite pretty. This type of atmosphere in the style of the old, venerable, noisy Rock’n’roll mixed with Glam Rock could be great music for some musical event. Of course if someone likes such tones. Besides there you will hear the harmonica, which it adds mood like from a nice dive. The vocal is screaming, squealing. It is the old Rock playing but I think they need to a little work on the tracks.
The idea even is an interesting and a refinement of the material significantly could be lift the quality of the whole. Now, all of together creates quite a funny composition. As if the artists recorded this album for fun. Maybe this was their plan… Well, people can’t discuss about taste. Someone likes some stuff and the other one does not. But I feel a lack of something. I like how the musicians bring me from a song to a song in their musical world. This time it was not such thing. But maybe someone will be kidnaped by “Scream For Action”…
