How many bands from Slovenia do you know? Besides Laibach – I know LOW VALUE. And I ensure you that there are a lot of bands in this country. LOW VALUE plays already 12 years and they regale us his second album “Recharge” from some time. I'm not an expert of this type of music but it seems to me that the music of LOW VALUE oscillates around the areas of Californian Punk Rock. I always associate this type of music with two things… With the skateboarding and with movies about young people in American high school or college (where a carefree young people have fun in the pauses between a learning and amorous conquests, hahaha)… But well, that is the music of LOW VALUE – very emotional, spontaneous, dynamic and idyllic with a huge load of romantic melancholy… The musicians even look like youngsters, so everything is ok., hahaha…
And in this case , the music is very strong with the interesting riffs, the cool solos, with the strong blows of drums and of course with the melodic singing. The tracks are nice and catchy and are fun to listen to them… Sometimes the arrangements catch the Heavy Metal and it's really hard as well as climatic. Another time, the Hardcore motives with the stronger vocals and the greater dose of aggression appear even here. And it makes their music as both carefree but and serious… Of course the accents of ballad (very nostalgic and romantic) also found their place on the album.
Here clearly is audible that the gentlemen have well controlled musical skills (as in bands of Punk rarely happens). The tracks are only seemingly simple. The frequent change of musical themes make the music don't boring. “Recharge” is the perfect music for a crazy party and the music is a nice escape from sinister Metal music.
