Before I got the disc of THE WAY OF PURITY earlier I watched the movie promoting their album – “Crosscore”. The movie showed the story about the creation of the music of the band. The action of the movie happened somewhere in a forest, where the guys (in black woollen caps, dressed in military trousers and with the rosaries in hands) became the witnesses of terrific ritual, full of pain, blood and evil forces. The sounds from the ritual (during which the naked woman cuts own body) were recorded on a tape. The terrific sounds were used as vocals to the music of the band
Obviously the plot was imaginary and it was stylized as horror of class B, although the music of band made the larger impression
and it seems that in the band are two women, and one of them uses predatory growling.
“Crosscore” portrays heavy and brutal sounds, full of dynamic riffs, percussive blasts and of strong aggressive growlings. However despite assurances of label, that the compositions of THE WAY OF PURITY are Death Metal but the music structures run out beyond the canons of classic Death Metal The many borrowings of industrial music and of Mathcore there are in style of e.g. complex and muffled guitar rhythms with electronic samples and with the keyboards in the background. In consequence of such mixture in moments this reminds SLIPKNOT or even MESHUGGAH. But the subjects in style of Nu Metal, Post-Punk Rock or Ghotic Metal (with feminine vocals and Rap declamations in style of EVANESCENCE were shock). However those subjects were minority. But I ensure you there also are other innovations. All these interventions yet more dismissed THE WAY OF PURITY from Death Metal. This all caused that dangerous explosive substance came into being… There are a lot of crushing force which leaves destruction and cry. The whole is poli-rhythmical and variable. This modern approach to Death Metal causes that THE WAY OF PURITY creates rather Extreme Metal (as it is named by some people at present), which is brutal, ripping on the shreds and also with note of melancholy melodies in some moments.
THE WAY OF PURITY brings the message about God and man's animal nature. It seems that their approach is Christian. Although their message is a bit controversy But I do not penetrate in their religion I penetrate in music only.
