SPELLBLAST exists already over 10 years. And this really is the third material (but the second full album). However I will not wonder why the band gave so few releases by these years. The important is here and now
From the announcement of manager of team I knew that I have to wait for album recorded by the metal-brigade which likes folk climates
And the graphic binding of the album as well as the titles of works have created folk-mediaeval climate. However SPELLBLAST rather follows traditionalism and classicism (in metal meaning). And therefore this is not in style of HAGGARD, nor it also is not pagan-black-metal horde of angry Vikings. SPELLBALST rather is inspired by accomplishments of BLIND GUARDIAN, HAMMERFALL or RHAPSODY. But the SPELBLAST adds something own – the considerable dose of folk climate which is made by the many melodies of the singing, of the guitar solos and even of the sounds of keys, violins and the bagpipes).
The songs are very lively and energetic and also very melodious, simultaneously sharp as well as dynamic. They tell the stories of past times, presenting the very epic climate full of different emotions like idyll, gladness but and battle atmosphere, pathos as well as nostalgia. The each arrangement possesses characteristic melodious line expressed by vocal motifs and instrumental solos.
The three guests were invited to the album. Besides vocals of Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE) we will hear the violinist and also the bagpiper (it significantly influenced to escalation of folk climate which is like from Scotland or Ireland).
