AXIA signs to SELFMADEGOD RECORDS; debut album out now

Portuguese grind outfit AXIA signed a deal with Polish label Selfmadegod Records to release their debut album. “Pulverizer” is filled with twenty-one tracks of filth and loathing that will indeed pulverize listeners worldwide. If you like intense and blistering grindcore in the vein of NASUM, NAPALM DEATH, LOCK UP, ROTTEN SOUND, GADGET, ANTIGAMA then you can’t miss this album. Called “a furiously paced representation of a highly mechanized war zone” by No Clean Singing, this album is sure to make a grim mark on all who hear it.

The album was recorded at Sound Stone Studio and HNK Studio, produced and mixed by Max Tome and mastered by Peter in de Betou (ARCH ENEMY, AMON AMARTH, MESHEGGAH, HYPOCRISY).

“Pulverizer” is now available on CD and digital download through Selfmadegod Records. You can listen to “Fading Into Nothing” song at the label’s Soundcloud profile or YouTube channel.

AXIA was crafted by four seasoned musicians known for their work in THE OMINOUS CIRCLE, HOLOCAUSTO, CANIBAL, HEAVENWOOD, and COLOSSO among others; vocalist Alex Vale is joined by guitarist Max Tome, with bassist Ze Pedro and drummer Marcelo Aires rounding out the rhythm section. This new project builds on their collective experience to create an opus that is even more negative and hopeless than their previous respective outputs.

“Volatile and primed to erupt, Axia bring both grind and groove into a seamless unity on Pulverizer. Scorching stuff that maintains more than meets the eye in many ways. There may be 21 songs in 32-minutes, but they have tapped into a way to stay abrasive without becoming a total blur. Let’s see where they take it from here.” – Dead Rhetoric (7.5/10)

“Axia have produced an album of crushing, relentless fury and blistering aggression. This should easily delight grindheads everywhere.” – Wonderboxmetal

“(…) Pulverizer comes just as advertised. It goes grindcore, deathgrind, death metal and gets melodic here and there. But overall, it crushes track after track. At about thirty-two-minutes, Axia blaze through track after track. Fans of Rotten Sound, Lock Up and Nasum should be smashing that play button now. Don’t sleep on this one.” – Metal Injection
