W skład zespołu wchodzi duet Christian Kolf (Valborg) i Matin Vasari (Beyondition), którzy wspólnie napisali, nagrali i wyprodukowali swój debiutancki album w ciągu dwóch lat w rodzinnym Bonn w Niemczech wraz z Peterem Scartabello (Sky Shadow Obelisk), który nagrywał swoje ścieżki perkusyjne w Providence w stanie Rhode Island, w domu H.P. Lovecarafta.

W brzmieniu MOON INCARNATE usłyszymy wczesny Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride i Anathemę – a także wczesny Amorphis, Tiamat, Katatonię, Samael i Moonspell.
