CARNAL REDEMPTION – Interview with Nondas

Hello my death metal friends. Would you like to tell us a few words about the history of the band as a mini introduction to the readers of this interview?

Hello, Andrew. How are you, my friend? Well, the three of us started playing together in November 2000. In the beginning we were playing cover from bands like CARCASS, DEATH, MORBID ANGEL etc. just for fun. Soon after that we decided to form the band, find the name etc. After that we started writing our own material, and after having some songs ready we started playing live shows (Athens, Volos). After a while, we decided to record our debut demo “The Limits of Persistence”, which we are promoting this period.

“The limits of persistence” is a very promising demo. Are you satisfied with it? What are the critics it has received? Have you had any contact offer from any label?

We are satisfied with it but the production could have been better if we had more time and money. The critics were generally good. We had an offer from a label but unfortunately we are unable to accept it now because Nick (bass/voice) is doing his military service this period.

Your influences come from the whole death metal scene but a love for the American scene is obvious. Tell me some of your favourite bands. I would also like to know some non-death metal bands you like.

We like a lot bands like Monstrosity, Malavolent Creation, Death, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Carcass, Severe Torture etc. We admire dands like Devourment, Lividity, too. Except those, we like thrash and bands like Tool etc.

So, “Victim of the cyberworld”. I guess I am one of these. Do you feel that technology may be good and helpful but on the other hand destructive for human beings?

You 'd better ask Nick about the lyrics. But generally the song is talking about those who depend TOO MUCH on technology, internet etc. Generally, I believe, that technology is necessary all right, but to a reasonable extent!

What are your future plans? Do you think of a next demo release in the near future?

Nick is doing his military service now. We are trying to promote 'the limits of persistence” whenever we can. Our plan is to record our second demo, but it will take some time due to the reason I told you about before. We 'll try to play some live shows whenever Nick is out!

You are an underground band. Do you also know things about the Greek underground scene? Which bands do you think should have signed a contract but haven`t yet?

I think the bands should play more live shows(and remain in fuckin action!) to promote their music. …And here comes the main problem: In Athens very few people come to that shows. In contrary, in places outside Athens, people are really crazy! They support the underground a lot and they go to live shows. Generally, there are some really good Greek bands. I like Fleshart, Inveracity, Atavism, Angrist etc.

We are approaching the end! I want to thank you for your time and wish you the best for the future. Last words are yours…

First of all, I want to thank you for your support and hope the best for “Bleeding Chaos”! Many thanks to those that help us! SUPPORT THE UNDERGROUND!!!
