INTO ETERNITY Reveals Concept of New Album

Band founder and guitarist Tim Roth has been through a set of tragedies that could have put anyone out for a long while. Two of Roth’s best friends succumbed to a rare form of cancer within two months of one another last year, the tragedy made all the worse by the fact that his father was diagnosed with cancer as the band was demoing new material. He passed away just 10 days before Christmas. Quite miraculously, Roth was able to channel his emotions into a new album, The Incurable Tragedy. As the title would suggest, the concept behind the record is cancer and the ways in which it affects society today. The album is scheduled for a summer release.

INTO ETERNITY is currently touring North America with the equally epic and progressive shredders Symphony X and Century Family affiliates Epica. While this will be their last tour in support of The Scattering of Ashes, the band does plan on playing the new song they uploaded to their MySpace page, “Diagnosis Terminal.” To preview an unmastered version you can visit the link below.

“'Diagnosis Terminal' is one of the heaviest songs on the new record,” Roth says. “The song started with a chorus I had written. Justin (Bender, guitars) then sent me a MP3 demo of a few killer riffs he had, and the song was born. The key I had my chorus in didn't match the pitch of his new riffs, so that's how we came up with the idea of having the same chorus, but in two different keys. I think it sounds clever now, but it was actually just a mistake!
