In 2001 Alexandre and Yann decided to make something of their own, form a band, which will be something quite rare, on the French ground. Within the first months of working, they managed to record an instrumental EP, a cross between heavy and dark metal. In 2003 the band was finally named REPENTANCE but in 2004, when they wrote some more songs, they changed the name to LA RUMEUR DES CHAINES.

What can I say: it is a fantastic black metal kick in French. Probably the best French metal I have ever heard. Prepared with high attention to technical details and to the concept of creation: the ideas simply swirl around. Plus those imaginative fills performed on keyboards and drums… something really touching. Everything sounds exactly like a black mass, till we meet ‘Erythéme’, where trumpets take the lead: this operation may sound silly, but creates a fantastic noir atmosphere – what more can one want! And those swing standards! Finally the hoarse vocal and heavy guitars join in and take the lead… the black mass is carried on.

The guys from this band showed that every kind of instrument can be properly used in metal music. This album is a little pearl and I hope, that we will hear something new pretty soon.
