NAPALM DEATH „Order Of The Leech”
Because I really liked the previous album from these Giants Of Grindcore, I was really excited about this one. Ok, it's not as good as Enemy Of The Music Business (one of the albums my mum still remembers), but it still rocks (in EXACTLY the same way)
.
NARGAROTH „Geliebte Des Regens”
I am going to be flagellated by the Kanwulf adorers but I find him to be THE single most overrated Black Metal artist around. Yes 'Herbstleyd' was quite good, but the rest of Kanwulf's back catalogue is plain old boring and repetitive.
NAZCA „The White Wheel”
All I could think when I first put this disc in was WOW! This is great melodic rock! Nazca have a unique name for any rock band, and they actually hail from a small rock out in the Indian Ocean named Reunion Island. The songs are fairly diverse throughout, but never lacking key guitar elements.
NECRODEATH „Black As Pitch”
Necrodeath songwirter once said that he prefers Slayer more than Black Metal (Which Necrodeath normally has inspired and are compared to), and that shines through on their latest studio effort “Black as pitch”. Typical og violent Slayer Riffs are used on the cd, and especially on the first number “Red as blood” are the inspiration from masters obvious.
NIGHTFALL „Athenian Echoes”
I have this album since 1996 and nowadays I still think it's a gem in the extreme metal scene. In broad strokes, they blend death, black, gothic and melodic rock in this outfit and a lot of keyboards and effects all over the songs.
NO RETURN „Machinery”
Mix above ingredients in a blender at high speed. while this is mixing, place your ear real close to the blender and your in for a treat.
NOSTRADAMEUS „The Third Prophecy”
We are in front of a very good heavy/power metal band. I was expecting to listen to typical power metal with no trace of originality but I was wrong.
MY SHAMEFUL „Of All The Wrong Things”
My Shameful is a new band from Finland which has released 3 demos (the third one was also released as a mcd by Nocturnal Mysic) up till now and this is its debut album. My opinion is that this band can do many people love its music.
M-26 „Sentimentos Sombrios”
M-26 come from Brazil and they have something unusual. Their lyrics are in Portugese! It`s the first band I know with lyrics in that language.
MACABRE „Murder Metal”
After 15 in the deepest depths of the underground and after having had their sick records banned in several countries the US band Macabre has built up a serious cult status in the international Death Metal scene. The Dutch 'Hammerheart' label (currently operating under the name Karmageddon Media) gave them their first breakthrough by releasing their previous album 'Dahmer' world wide.
