The history of LUNARSEA started in 2003 when Angelo, Fabiano, Cristian and some other guys formed HOLLOWEARTH, a progress-metal project. But during the recording session, those three mentioned above decided to leave the band, because of some music disagreements. They decided to form a band of their own and that is how LUNARSEA was born.

Another melodic death metal production which is bound to conquer the world. Whatever… the problem with such music is very simple: no matter what you record, someone else has already done it before, sometimes far better than you do it. And the situation with LUNARSEA is exactly the same: their compositions are quite cool, dynamic, interesting, they draw the attention, but… they lack in originality, do not create that emotional state of mind when you feel, that this is it! The first track is the best example of this concept. Later on, it is getting better, ‘Dead End Road, He Walked’ is a nice composition, the rest is once better once worse. Hopping up and down. The pace changes very often, the hoarse vocal swaps with cool choirs, which contribute to the whole and enrich the final impression. All in all, the feeling that LUNARSEA use some ideas of CHILDREN OF BODOM or IN FLAMES is present quite often and does not want to get lost. It is a good and solid piece of death metal play, but as mentioned earlier, it is not a discovery, not a primeval ground.

That is why this album is only average. It is not bad, gives some thrills and cool stuff, from the technical point of view it is very good, with many instrumental and vocal tricks. But it is like films about Indiana Jones. The first idea was extra cool, the second weaker… the third… and now, they are preparing the fourth episode. Mr. Jones is still the same, only the crew changes… and this does not guarantee the better quality of this event.
