NAGLFAR „Sheol”

NAGLFAR „Sheol” - okładka
Music: Melodic Black/Death Metal
Duration: 9 songs (40 minutes)
Cool songs: Black God Aftermath!!!!!!! …and the rest.

Sheol is one hell of an album, fast, extreem, chaotic, and constantly blazing like hell. Somehow, Naglfar's sound immediately reminded me of Dissection, but Naglfar is definitely not a copycat. The album kicks off with three amazing tracks, raised from pure evil. Speedy, melodic, like a wall of layered guitars. This gives the album a very hellish and blazing sound. Many bands try to achieve such an atmosphere, but a lot of them by the use keyboards. The cool thing about this release is, that it really worked to create hell on a silver disk, without using crappy keyboards.

Vocalist Jens Ryden's really seems to drift along with the giant mass of molten metal, that flows into you're body, after you hit play. He improved a lot, no gurgling around, all words are barked out articulated instead.

I have two complaints on this album:
1. The album gets a little boring at the end, not really boring, like you're attention is taken away to more interesting things to focus on, like the wall, but you just get a little tired of this constant inferno.
2. The drums sound weak, if they were played louder, the album would include a lot more chaos and that would be a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, it is still a terrific album! But with a few adjustments, it would even be cooler.

note: 8.5/10
