Finally I hold „Burning for metal“ of the quintet DRAGONSFIRE in my hands. I have been waiting for that release such a long time (right, Jan? ;)) and now I finally got it.

You could feel deterred, when you read the bandname. But here you won´t find the normal power speed metal with bombastic epic stuff, no, DRAGONSFIRE start a fire underneath your ass in a different way. This very good (self-)produced 5 track EP introduces you to a heavy metal style that partly goes into the hard rock area. It is also power metal somehow. Sometimes a little thrashy, but in no time, the melodies are missing.

The band has been in business for not even one year, but anyway the guys put money where the mouth is: The title „Burning for metal“ tells you everything, how I find. The Germans wanna rock and play heavy metal! And indeed it is very hard to describe what I am listening to right now. But in any way you can say it sounds good. 
Especially exciting is a song called „Purgatory“ that opens with a mystic intro to become a real monster. That rocks!
With a little lower speed, we have a song called „The warrior“. The speed has been reduced a bit, but this is the track on the whole album that stays in your ears and minds! Very good!

The band is made up of Peter Kalabis on vocals, the guitar duett Matthias Bludau and Thorsten Brand, as well as Thassilo Herbert on the bass strings and Jan Müller behind the drumkit.

Released on October 14, this EP includes only great songs! Especially the sometimes unclean vocals of singer Peter give a dirty sound to the songs of the guys. That fits very well to the style.

Although DRAGONSFIRE are a young band due to the band itself, the single members can look back at a lot of experience – and this is what you can hear when you listen to the disc. Professional work.

With a running time of 26:44 minutes, this is a good introduction to the music of DRAGONSFIRE. I am curious about more…
