BRETTHART OPEN AIR – DARKSEED

On a lovely Friday morning at 10:15 am the journey started to Limbach (Baden, Germany). Thanks to the traffic jam and the compulsory wrong driving I got 5 (!) hours later finally to the festival area, after I left a few little villages behind me. The heaven was cloudy. That fit to the dark offer of bands, which Munich´s Darkseed should count to this evening.

After the band warmthen up themselves with a backstage soccer game, the motto was „enter the stage and let´s rock“. The unfortunately not many festival visitors didn´t want to come to the front of the stage, because it was very hot and stifling. Instead they wanted to drink a cool beer on the bar. But folks, you could have drunk that near the stage!

From the beginning to the last song, Darkseed gave full power – and this with good volume. Shouter Stefan Hertrich showed himself in the best form and also showed us his best side as a singer and entertainer. The fully dressed in black Bavarians even got the heaven to cry – because of joy! Because the six guys did their concert extremely professional. Except the compulsory killers like „Disbeliever“ and „My burden“ or also „Save me“ Darkseed presented a new, old song. „Counting moments“ from the 2000 album „Diving into darkness“ had its live premiere and the people really liked it. Darkseed had most of the people listening to their music and watching their performance while the guys were playing at their time. And here´s the setlist in full length, 1 hour amazing playing time, even this was the last time we saw Darkseed live:

 Disbeliever
 Ultimate Darkness
 Biting Cold
 Save Me
 Counting Moments (!)
 My burden
 The fall
 Endless Night
 Speak Silence
 Sleep sleep sweetheart
 Forever Darkness

Despite lazy metalheads in the background, Darkseed again tried to let you think about life with their socialcritical lyrics, packed in a heavy and rocky covering. Please read in any case the songtexts (www.darkseed.com -> releases)! Realistically shown every day, social and politics problems are covered philosophically by gothic metal.
