FIRE ON DAWSON is a German band with leader who comes from India – a man named Ankur Batra. After a successful debut album “Prognative” FIRE ON DAWSON released a new album “7 Billion and a Nameless Somebody” . The well-known sound engineer Stephen Marsh took mastering. He cooperated with INCUBUS and KORN).

The music takes us into a world of climatic sounds – the very spatial compositions, where the main part is the mood and creation of melancholic atmosphere with a heavier touch of vocal-instrumental… This type of actions I associate with the accomplishments of PORCUPINE TREE and TOOL and with a little Progressive Rock from 70's and Grunge.

The songs bring a lot of gentle darkness and nostalgia but also a heaviness and a variable dynamics. And the sharper riffs intertwined with the delicate passages and solos. And the whole is propel by the very extensive playing of the drums with the complex rhythms as well as the intricate accents and the surprising change of pace. The delicate parts of the keys which sometimes underline climate are the great addendum. And the singing of Ankur sounds on top of these multi-thematic arrangements (the singing often is subtle, sometimes with hoarseness or even with growls).

The music of FIRE ON DAWSON is very atmospheric, saturated by the many emotions – not only – by sadness but and also by anger. This act is argument that musicians are very sensitive artists.
